Gate Motor and Intercom System Terms & Conditions

Initial call out fee:

  1. In hours fee includes 1st hour labour and vehicle charge.  This does not include any parts material or anything else.
    1. $120 dollars in and around Auckland (up to a 35 km radius around Auckland)
    2. $150 for areas further than 36-80km radius around Auckland
  2. After hours fee includes 1st hour labour and vehicle charge.  This does not include any parts material or anything else.
    1. $210 dollars in and around Auckland (up to a 35 km radius around Auckland)
    2. $245 for areas further than 36-80km radius around Auckland
  3. We will try our utmost best to repair the motor on site, but if any parts need to be ordered this is not included in the above price.
  4. This service includes the technician coming out to the site, vehicle charge, assessing the problem and fixing the problem if no extra parts or new parts are required.
  5. Parts excluded.

Extra charges not included in initial call out fee (charges per hour and not part of an hour):

  1. $75/hour in office hours
  2. $112.50/hour after hours
  3. Any parts to be ordered to repair the motor
  4. PC boards
  5. New gate motor

Examples of fee structure:

  1. Scenario 1: 2 or more hours at site (or part of the hours):
    • Invoiced as: Initial call out fee plus extra hour/s charged
  2. Scenario 2: 1 hour or part of the hour at site and return to the site on another date to replace parts:
    • Invoiced as: Initial call out fee plus hourly rate plus vehicle charge of $35
    • (If parts must be ordered and replaced the time will be charged again for the technician and vehicle charge).

Payment terms:

  1. These costs are payable on arrival or departure unless an arrangement was made call out if anything else needs to be done

Definition of job completed:

  1. After the technician has fixed the original problem, tested the part and it is in working order – part the technician worked on e.g. gate opens and closes or the safety beams are working or the intercom system is working or the remotes are working – it means the job is completed and the client has to settle the account.

Warranty:

  1. 7 days on general repairs
  2. 30 days on new replaced parts

Procedures for testing a gate motor or intercom system on a call-out:

  1. First, we need to establish what the problem is
  2. Diagnose what type of system it is
  3. Find a solution for the problem

Check list of service call:

  1. Arriving on site do a visual inspection (sliding gate)
    • Gate motor installation
    • Rack and pinion
    • Mechanical movement of the gate
    • Roller wheels and track
    • Opening and closing position of the gate
    • Gate wheel guides
  2. Arriving on site do a visual inspection (swing gate)
    • Gate motor installation
    • Hinges
    • Mounting position of gate
    • Control arms
    • Fixing position of control arm to gate leaf
  3. Visual electrical inspection
    • Open the motor
    • Check all connections – mains & all control circuit connections
    • Dampness and/or critters
    • Testing of battery and charging voltage
  4. Safety beams, intercom system, loop system, key pads or any auxiliary parts controlling the gate motor
    • Visual inspection
    • Cleaning critters
  5. Fix the problem.
